Working for Reuters and Getty, her work has been featured in many international publications and media outlets. The New York Times has published her photos on the cover of the newspaper five times from January 2015 to September 2017.

in 2018, She did three international assignments in: Tokyo, Singapore and Tunisia.

In 2017, she actively covered the rise of white nationalism in America.

In 2016, Reuters assigned her to cover the Dakota Access Pipeline protest at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation for six weeks.

In 2012, Stephanie was named Reporter of the Year by the Newswomen's Club of New York for her independently produced photos of the Occupy Wall Street Protest.

Prior to moving to the New York City area, she lived in California, Germany and Egypt. She has been documenting the Brooklyn scene most of her photo career, doing stories about Coney Island, Drag Queen competitions, Muslim holidays, Caribbean street celebrations and the Haitian American practice of Vodou.

Stephanie attended Stanford University, and received a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology and later graduated from both the photojournalism program at International Center of Photography and the Master's program in Photography at New York University.
